How it Works

The Introduction

The initial phase where you contact us with your idea and/or sketch of what you would be looking for. Some important things to keep in mind are any preferred materials or colors to be utilized in your idea. Hydro-Cut Creations can also reccomend materials for given applications.

The Quote

Hydro-Cut Creations creates a proposal for bringing your idea to life. At this stage, an initial graphic of the idea is created and may involve some communication with you to complete. This phase can last up to a few weeks, but on average no more than 2-3 working days.

The Approval

Once you have received your quote, you can make the determination whether to continue with Hydro-Cut Creations. At this stage, initial payment will be required for artwork creation and material hold if the proposal is accepted.

The Happy Customer

Congratulations!
Your idea has officially become a creation, and is prepared and shipped to you. Our number one goal is your satisfaction, and with that comes the hope that you enjoy our collective creation.

HOW WE CUT YOUR IDEAS INTO LIFE

How Water-jet Cutting Works

Water-jet Cutting is utilizing highly pressurized water through a nozzle with a miniature hole to produce great force at a very small point. In doing so, you effectively cut through the material at that point, and the carriage system moves the nozzle above the product being cut in a given pattern or shape to create a cut piece while removing very little material. In some cases, an abrasive sand may be used for some extra cutting power.

Advantages of Water-Jet Cutting:

  • Good quality edges
  • No heat-effected zone
  • Low material loss, due to small kerf (The thickness of the cut)
  • Omnidirectional; straight and contour cutting
  • No mechanical or thermal stress
  • Random part nesting to reduce material cost and loss
  • Cut finish and accuracy
  • No expensive tooling
  • Quick turn around
  • Minimal set-up time

A video clip of water-jet cutting can be seen below.

What We Can Cut

Due to a low heat leak cutting process and high pressured nozzle, Water-Jet Cutting can produce accurate cuts in multiple material types. Some of these materials are shown below.

    Metals:
  1. Stainless Steel
  2. Carbon Steel
  3. Aluminum
  4. Brass
  5. Gold
  6. Titanium
  7. Copper
    Non-Metals:
  1. Glass
  2. Plastic
  3. Wood
  4. Garolite
  5. Fiberglass
  6. Foam
  7. Rubber
If the material type that you are thinking of using was not listed here, we do recommend contacting us and we will determine if the material type is one that fits our capabilities. If we can not help you, we will try to assist you in finding someone who can.

Welding and Machining

Hydro-Cut Creations utilizes AET's welding and machining team. AET is experienced in working with carbon steel, all types of inconel, hastalloy, aluminum, titanium, zirconium as well as numerous forms of heat resistant stainless steel and other nickel alloys.

Our versatility extends from fabricating simple parts to complex parts and assemblies utilized by NASA.

The Hydro-Cut Creations team can also create and read manufacturing drawings for build-to-print simple and complex designs.
